Gibsons School of the Arts Classes

During this week the students will have the opportunity to experiment with the process of simplifying their ideas into strong, bold designs, and painting with colour that is vibrant but refined. You will be doing exercises that: explore colour mixing, combine hues and tones, detail with shading and highlighting, add texturing and see negative space. You will also look at the emotional, expressive component of colour. You will complete two or three large paintings using the results of your experiments. Each day will start with and end in a discussion period about the day's work. This is a repeat course from 2007 because of the large number of students who wished to take Greta's course last year but were unable to because of our limited class numbers.
